Job Description

Analyst / Programmer Job Description

The Analyst Programmer will contribute to the development of PC based Systems to meet the business requirements of the department, with the emphasis of the post on the design and development of new PC based applications using Visual Basic.

Duties and Responsibilities

To design, develop and implement PC based business applications / systems for the department according to existing corporate software development standards.
To produce system and user documentation during the development of systems.
To design and develop database systems in both MS Access and SQL Server
Test, debug and document software developed both internally and externally.
To carry out maintenance and support of assigned systems.
To plan how work is to be carried out to meet targets of the project or team task.

Skills / Attributes Required

Previous experience working as an Analyst Programmer in a professional Microsoft Windows environment;
Expertise in Visual Basic with relational databases;
Strong Access and SQL Server experience.
Flexible attitude, ability to perform under pressure.
A commitment to quality and a thorough approach to the work.
Ability to work well within a team

Salary / Benefits Package

Up to £28,000 plus Pension and 25 days holiday
